Summary

The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI) is a globally recognized credential that validates a professional’s expertise in project management. The PMI outlines a rigorous certification process for PMP candidates which includes an exam, experience requirements, and education/training requirements. The current version of the exam is based on the PMBOK Guide Sixth Edition. The exam covers five domains initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling, and closing. PMP certified professionals are equipped with the skills and knowledge to lead and direct projects, manage stakeholders and resources, and deliver projects on time, within budget, and according to scope.
