Additional Benefits 

 

Air Ticket:

Annual economy Air class ticket to home country (as stated in the passport) is allocated to the Faculty member, his/her spouse, and up to two children under the age of 18 years, based on the condition that all recipients are holding a UAE residency visa, are under the sponsorship of the second party, and are residing in the UAE. Unused annual return tickets are not convertible to cash.

 

Medical Insurance

ADUC provides medical insurance to all faculty members and their spouses and up to two children under the age of 18 years, based on the condition that all recipients are holding a UAE residency visa, are under the second party’s sponsorship, and are residing in the UAE.

 

Annual Leave

Faculty members are entitled to 45 days paid annual leave for each fully completed academic year of service, in addition to any official leaves announced by MOE or MOL in UAE. Annual leave is to be taken during summer, and it cannot be postponed or transferred. Untaken leave is not transferable to cash.

 

Gratuity 

In the event of termination by the employer of an unlimited contract, the calculation will be as follows:

  1. If a faculty or professional staff worked at ADUC for less than one year, they are not entitled to any gratuity pay.
  2. If a faculty or professional staff worked at ADUC for more than one year, but less than five years, he/she is entitled to 21 calendar days’ basic salary for each year of the first five years of employment.
  3. If a faculty or professional staff worked at ADUC for more than five years, he/she is entitled to 30 calendar days’ basic salary for each additional year, provided the total compensation does not exceed two years’ pay.

 

In the event a faculty member or professional staff under an unlimited contract resigns, the calculation will be as follows:

  1. If a faculty or professional staff resign before completing one year of employment, he/she is not entitled to any gratuity pay.
  2. If a faculty or professional staff worked at ADUC between 1 and 3 years, he/she is entitled to one-third (1/3) of 21 days’ basic salary as gratuity pay.
  3. If a faculty or professional staff worked at ADUC between 3 and 5 years, he/she is entitled to two-thirds (2/3) of 21 days’ basic salary as gratuity pay.
  4. If a faculty or professional staff worked at ADUC for more than five years, he/she is entitled to full 21 days’ basic salary as gratuity pay.

 

The provision in the Event of Faculty and Professional Staff Death 

In the event of the death of a faculty or professional staff member, ADUC will apply the UAE labour law; ADUC shall take the following dispositions: 

  1. Immediately notify the HR Department and all staff members 
  2. Assist the family with all matters relating to a funeral, body repatriation, and regulatory issues 
  3. Payment of full salary of the month where the death occurred. 
  4. Payment of end of service (gratuity) and accrued vacation earned but not availed before death. 
  5. Payment of return tickets to the home country to the surviving spouse and surviving dependents under 18 and residing in the UAE.
