  1. The Policy

In cases such as unfair treatment, violation of non-discrimination policies, unfair administrative treatment or violations of work ethics, dismissal, etc. Faculty and staff members can lodge a formal complaint or grievance.

The policy of the College is to encourage its members to attempt, to the extent that is possible, to resolve the grievance in an informal way. In case, the informal resolution is not considered satisfactory by the aggrieved, he/she can initiate a formal grievance procedure.

Grievance against the President

Faculty and staff members may lodge a complaint against the President of the College. The complaint must be documented in writing and addressed to the Board of Trustees of the College. The Board of Trustees will review within 30 working days the complaint, proceed with interview with both parties and after due deliberations will inform the President and the complainant of its decision.

Complaint Withdrawal

Employee may withdraw his/her complaint at any time. Consequently, the case is deemed closed and resolved.

  1. The Process

Faculty Grievance: A committee shall be constituted by the Vice-President Academic Affairs as per the following composition:

  1. Head of the department to which faculty belongs
  2. One representative from Human Resource department
  3. One faculty member from a different School
  4. Any other member(s) relevant to the case.

Professional Staff Grievance: A committee shall be constituted by the Director, Administration and Finance as per the following composition:

  1. Head of the department to which faculty belongs
  2. One representative from Human Resource department
  3. One member holding Academic Administrative Designation
  4. Any other member(s) relevant to the case.

The Committees shall communicate their decisions to the authority who constituted the committee and the action will be taken accordingly. In case the employee is not satisfied with the committed decision, the employee can make an appeal to the President office with in 10 days from the date of communicating the decision to employee. The President office will take action as per the “Faculty and Staff Appeals” policy.
